The meeting sponsored by NGWRC and agenda at www.NGWRC,org is in full action now. Today has includes a well-informed update by Dr Robert Haley, UTSWMedical. The research that we have highlighted here on VT has brought alot of hope to veterans wanting to get to the high level diagnostic abilities that pinpoints the damage. The veterans indicate that they had an informative lecture that zeroed right into how a gulf war veteran needs to be tested now. One of the main goals that Dr Haley wanted to accomplish is to find the neurological testing that could provide the VA and civilian doctors a roadmap to diagnosing gulf war veterans neurological impairments to improve care by giving doctors the dignostic tools they need so they can see the damage. That is one of main real world steps that has been needed fast.
There is no time to waste we need the neurological testing found through research and proven by replication that would validate the worth of these tests. And the next step would be that following testing that treatment trials could be fast tracked. The analogy was made that Gulf War illness in comparison to what happen when AIDS was accepted as real and within ten years with the AIDS activist public push that treatment followed within ten years. So we as veterans should all be outspoken.
Georgetown University Hospital being in attendance collecting specimens and doing data collection for one part of their research was an added feature that involved all the Gulf War veterans a chance to participate in Dr Barinauck research right here and right now!
A screening of the film Trooper with the producer and film maker here in person to share the film with all is happening now and the veterans can see their own stories told in film. What a film! We need to help get this film to all movie houses! WE can do this as a group of veterans!
WE have had veterans directly working with VA claims professionals in a seperate room and yes a direct interface with Matt Letterman to work the current problems with his claims. Hopefully we will have more news rapidly about his claims. It ain’t easy or quick but we will keep you all informed. I will also provide more information on that in my next piece. The veterans are here for each other and to test the VA response.
Dinner with and honoring Ross Perot and Dr Robert Hailey is next. .
