Frustration – Part II

Hello Folks:

I am working with an OIF veteran regarding a non combat injury in Iraq. He fell off of an Army wrecker. His back is badly damaged. The VA said the injury was “dengenerative disk disease”. His AFES, pre-deployment and post deploymenet physicals did not note “dengenerative disk disease”. He has a few documents confirming the back injury. Finding his medical file is a work in progress. Our vet is paying his medical bills resulting from this issue. He has been denied for benefits by the VA. Also, the Vet may have let the time limits for appeal pass. Now, any ideas on reopening this issue? Existing medical forms were not submitted with the first claim. Neither were witness statements. We can get one (maybe more) direct witness statement to the wrecker incident. I can use any help. The poor guy is one more example of being kicked to the curb by the United States of America. Why our wounded and injured have continue to prove to the governement how they were hurt – beyond a doubt is very sad, is it not?

Thanks

Dale R. Suiter
