For anyone new to Veteran’s Affairs and what resources are available, the Johnson County Commission of Veteran Affairs points them to a website that offers information on health care, job assistance, the G.I. Bill, home loans and more

Leo Baier, director of the county VA commission, says those welcoming home veterans should stress to them the importance of registering for their VA benefits as soon as they are eligible. The website is www.1.va.gov/opa/myva/index.asp.

For more information, contact Baier at 356-6049 or visit the office at 855 S. Dubuque St., Iowa City.
