For two years since the majority of the American people voted for President Obama, the GOP decided to say “no” to everything saying that it was “not what the American people wanted” but this was after he was elected by the bulk of the voters from all states.
Senators are only elected by their own states and Representatives are only elected by their districts but that didn’t seem to matter as the GOP elected decided they knew what the American people wanted no matter how they voted. Seems a bit odd that this happened and now, it is back to “what the American people wanted” because the local elections put them into seats they are about to take.
When Bush was president it was “elections have consequences” and he was given what he wanted after that because “There are two wars going on and he is (was) Commander-in-chief” so when the Democrats took control of the House and Senate, they had to behave and do what he said.
I remember all the fuss about the GOP wanting an up or down vote when the Democrats tried to block bills from being voted on when the GOP held the committees but I remember more the fact the GOP held these committee seats when all hell broke loose and the troops were suffering along with the American people as they saw their tax dollars fund rich welfare programs. Now two years after the American people spoke on the national level, two years of the GOP giving us the worst they had to offer, they are about to do it all again and the media decided to be silent about all of this.
The GOP are now saying that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell should not be repealed no matter what the bulk of the military members want. They say they need to keep giving tax breaks to the rich even when the American people don’t want to fund their lifestyles and the rich people like Warren Buffet came out against carrying them anymore.
So folks, help me out here because I am very confused about all of this. How are they getting away with it while the media remain silent and the White House doesn’t seem willing to fight back?
