Christian Fighter Pilots Org, A Formation of Deluded Bigots

“Being a Christian in the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, or even Coast Guard can be difficult.”

Yeah, those poor, persecuted Christians have it rough in this man’s military. Gays, lesbians, blacks, Jews, Muslims–they’re all over the damn place now, and a Christian finds the military a veritable lions’ den.

Good thing we have the Christian Fighter Pilot where a Christian man can find solace from the heathens and other mud people. Good thing … I should write: Thank God; he’s watching, you know?

The purpose of Christian Fighter Pilot .com is to fill a void.  Run your favorite internet search engine and see what comes up for “Christian Fighter Pilot.” A few years ago, the only hits you’d get were on a few guys named Christian who were pilots, some Christian Science Monitor articles about fighter pilots, and some general pilot pages. There was little, though, about being a fighter pilot and being a Christian.  The only other known site, the Association of Christian Fighter Pilots, has been defunct for some time.  (If you do find something, let us know so we can link to it for the benefit of others.)  Check out your favorite bookstore: you’ll probably get the same result.  There are very few resources for those who would be Christians in the military, never mind those Christians who want to be fighter pilots.

Being a Christian in the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, or even Coast Guard can be difficult.  Particularly in today’s world, there is a hypersensitivity toward religion and the military.

In addition, the military–and the fighter pilot world in particular–is a harsh one for a Christian. In many ways, the “expected” or stereotypical lifestyle of a fighter pilot (or even just military servicemember) is inconsistent with a Christian’s beliefs.  There is a fine balance between being a professional fighter pilot, military officer, and professing Christian; an art to being a proactive member of a squadron and a proactive follower of Christ.

To be the best that he can be–both Christian and fighter pilot, in the world but not of it–a Christian in the military needs knowledge, guidance, support, and friendship, so that he can be a leader to those who will need the same.
