Transitioning Military

Re-posted from the Verizon website by Randy Miller

Verizon would like to remember all those who served and are now serving our country around the world.  Verizon salutes our military families.

You stand strong. So does Verizon. Because of a team that does mission-critical work on revolutionary products and services. A team that serves our customers and our country with technology that helps keep our country safe. Because of people who care about higher ideals both inside and outside of work. This is your chance to be empowered. To connect with other team members who are ready to meet the challenges of a 100-megabit digital society.

Verizon employs 13,000 U.S. veterans. People who have served their country proudly. People who help us rise to meet new challenges. Who inspire us to do more. To honor those who continue to serve, we offer an enhanced Emergency Military Leave policy. These benefits which greatly exceed the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) provide the difference between an employee’s base pay and the military base pay for up to 36 months. Medical, dental, vision, and group life insurance for employees and dependents continue on the same terms as for active employees for those who are called up for active duty and for those who voluntarily enlist.

Match Your Skills to Our Careers

Your career should reflect who you are. Who you aspire to be. Using our U.S. Military Skill Matcher, you can find out where you can align your military education, experience, and training with Verizon’s workplace needs. You can also connect with us via LinkedIn, the Military Officers Association of America, Student Veterans.org, GIjobs, and through the Wounded Warrior Project.
