Both Sides of the Mirror – An Intimate Journey

How We View Ourselves Often Makes Us Our Own Worst Enemy

“We ought to view ourselves with the same curiosity and openness with which we study a tree, the sky or a thought, because we too are linked to the entire universe.”  …Henri Matisse

The Eye of the Beholder
We have all heard of writer’s block, the age old curse of the empty page staring you in the face. Artists and painters sometimes suffer the same when they want to do something special, and they are not just sure of what it is.
Editors have a bit different version of this. We are not always the original creators of what we bring our readers.
We do want to create an experience for our audience but we often face indecision over what that might be. Some of what we do is the result of lots of pondering…and other times, it is an instant decision.
As soon as I started watching this, I instinctively new it was going to be an experience. The talent of the filmmaker was there in the intro, taking us on a journey…but unsure of where to.
From my past work I knew the huge open loft space was going to be filled with something later on. There was no other reason for staging in such a large space. This is art and intimacy, woven together in a shot film where all played their parts well. And I will play mine by telling you no more, so your impressions are your own.

If I have done well we all learned something very important, that we can pass on. I did.
