Shin Beth and IDF Terminated the Freelancer of Terror Yedioth Ahronot, April 30, 2013

Only yesterday, I commented on the Israeli saying “The Jewish Brain Invents Patents,” in the context of a new semantic invention promoting war (“entwined red lines”). The saying denotes a wild act, a purposeful violation of the law, usually by the government. A few hours later, Israel assassinated Hitham Mishal (pronounced “Miskhal”) in the Shati refugees’ camp in Gaza. The headlines of Yedioth Ahronot, the largest paid Hebrew newspaper, claimed “Shin Beth and IDF Terminated the Freelancer of Terror.” The Jewish brain had invented a new term: “Freelance Terror.”
“‘Kidnapped Soldiers’ blared the Israeli headlines in 2006, after a soldier was captured in Gaza and two in Southern Lebanon. I was surprised. Since when is a soldier ‘kidnapped?’ Were they watering their mothers’ gardens at the time? No, they were participating in military events. Soldiers are never kidnapped; they are captured. Afterwards, they should be treated according to the international Geneva Convention. That one simple semantic deceit by the Israeli media kidnapped the nation’s mind,” that’s the beginning of An Eye for an Eye: On War Semantics, which analyzed the false reasoning of Israel for the beginning of the 2006 War with Hezbollah. After all, Jewish brains aren’t so innovative; “Kidnapped Soldiers” is pretty much the same as “Freelance Terror.” Let’s take a look.

Israel Never Assassinates!

Shooting of Grad at Eilat Israeli Anti-Missiles Fail in Eilat Attack April 17, 2013 Semantics
Israel never says “assassination.” Instead, its officials say “sikul memukad,” literally meaning “focused foiling.” Accordingly, today’s attack was controlled from the Shin Beth’s “Focused Foiling War Room” (Hamal Sikulim Memukadim), which was in contact with the IAF “Bor” (“Hole,” nickname for war room). The latter was responsible for the delivering the unmanned aerial vehicle which assassinated—sorry, I meant “focused foiled”—Mr. Mishal.
This is a simplistic doctrine of “disproportionate response,” in which Israel responds wildly to any suspicion of wrongdoing; no proper judicial process is allowed, the victim is not given a fair chance to defend himself. This nearly always leads to the death of innocents, and it invariably aggravates anti-Israeli sentiment. Each time it creates an escalation that is difficult to control and throws the entire country into a dead-end alley.
“Focused Foiling” a Young Man
Today’s attack was the first in Gaza since Operation Pillar of Cloud. Not for the first time, Israel attacked hospitals in Gaza; in 2009, during Operation Cast Lead, white phosphorous artillery shells were purposely fired by Israel on civilian hospitals; using such shells and attacking civilians in such fashion is forbidden by several international conventions which Israel is a signatory party to them. The terrifying, terrorist event was confirmed and condemned by the UN.
Mr. Mishal was assassinated—sorry, I meant “focused foiled”—near his place of work, the Shifa Hospital in Gaza. He was just 24.

Israel’s Doublethink*
On April 17, 2013, two Grad missiles hit Eilat. The event was perpetrated by a Salafi organization named “Mujahideen Shura Council in the Environs of Jerusalem,” active mainly in the Sinai. Following the event, which caused no damage, prime Minister Netanyahu reacted: “We will not agree with this, we will exact a price.” Mr. Mishal was the price.
Ron ben Yishai is a senior analyst publishing in Yedioth Ahronot. A senior IDF officer, he has extraordinary access to the military and Shin Beth secret police establishment. He is often chosen by them to release scoops that they are interested in publishing. Today, he claimed that Mr. Mishal was not only responsible for supplying and training the “Mujahideen Shura Council in the Environs of Jerusalem,” but was much more than that. He was a “Freelancer of Terror,” ready to sell out his knowledge of weapons to everybody ready to pay.
Let me cut short Mr. ben Yishai and Shin Beth’s delusions. I am not saying that Mr. Mishal was innocent, I don’t know. Nobody knows, so we should assume he is innocent; this is the basis of a proper legal system. No country can declare war against individuals, not even the USA. No country can deny a suspect a fair chance to defend himself in a legitimate court. Given the circumstances, the partial Israeli military and civilian courts can not enter this category. No punishment can be administered for unproven crimes and allegations. If I claim that Mr. Netanyahu is responsible for the 9/11 crimes, this cannot be used for “focused foiling.” The same goes for any similar claim by ben Yishai, or his Shin Beth bosses. If you behave like that, you render Israel as a terror state.
Mr. Mishal wasn’t a “Freelance Terrorist” anymore than the Israeli soldiers had been “kidnapped.” This is Israeli manipulation in the best style of Orwell’s 1984. Does anybody in Israel think that Mishal would have worked for Israel for money? Take your time, Mr. ben Yishai, let your Jewish brain invent yet another patent, one that wouldn’t be such a transparent lie.
Ben Yishai, one last issue. I understand your concern for human life. After all, during your mid-year terror festival your leaders like to remind “every soul is worth an entire world.” That’s why you called Mishal a “terrorist” after accusing him without proofs of killing innocents. If we accept that, and we assume that you are an honest person, then the same applies to Jews assassinating innocents. Mr. ben Yishai, you have awesome connections. Do you know Jonatan Caspi? Do you know Jonatan Goldman? Do you know Izhak Banderovitz? Finally, Do you know Jonatan Glikman?
This is not fair, I tricked you and didn’t give you a chance to defend yourself. Let me help you. The four gentlemen are the same person. He blew up the King David Hotel in 1946. This was the bloodiest ever terror act in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Is he a terrorist as Mishal, or you would define the one as a “freedom fighter” and the second as a “freelance terrorist?” Again I am not being fair; you, Mr. Honesty, are in the State payroll and will defend Netanyahu’s choice of a scapegoat down to the “focused foiling” of others.
* Doublethink “The keyword here is blackwhite. Like so many Newspeak words, this word has two mutually contradictory meanings. Applied to an opponent, it means the habit of impudently claiming that black is white, in contradiction of the plain facts. Applied to a Party member, it means a loyal willingness to say that black is white when Party discipline demands this. But it means also the ability to believe that black is white, and more, to know that black is white, and to forget that one has ever believed the contrary. This demands a continuous alteration of the past, made possible by the system of thought which really embraces all the rest, and which is known in Newspeak as doublethink. Doublethink is basically the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.” George Orwell, 1984
