Hollywood, Calif. May 31, 2013; Producer Suzanne DeLaurentiis has been selected and is scheduled to speak at the Governors Executive Employment Brief hosted by the Oregon National Guard’s Reintegration Team on June 14th in Clackamas, Oregon. The primary focus of the event is to thank current employers of service members, veterans and the Oregon National Guard. DeLaurentiis will be sharing the importance of supporting our troops and their families and will also share some of the monumental initiatives, which she spearheaded in Hollywood in support of veterans.
DeLaurentiis has always had the highest regard for the military, volunteering with the USO and veterans groups, but with the Oregon National Guard in particular. She has conducted many events with the Oregon Reintegration Team to raise support, open employment opportunities and raise awareness for the troops and veterans. DeLaurentiis’ program Operation Hollywood is unique because it offers veterans coming to Los Angeles pro bono accommodations, and gives returning soldiers an opportunity to train for a career in the film business.
In 2010, DeLaurentiis was honored with a Commendation Medal from the Oregon National Guard for her services to the troops by Maj. Gen. Raymond F. Rees, the Adjutant General, Oregon. Since then, she has continued to show her support, “there is nothing more rewarding than giving back to these brave men and women who sacrifice so much for our freedom. My mission is to try and get other producers involved by encouraging them to provide job opportunities for veterans on their movies as well,” DeLaurentiis said. DeLaurentiis has been an independent filmmaker for more than thirty years in Hollywood. She has been involved with making over one hundred features films.
