EVERY DAY the US politicians from both parties take $18.5 million from American tax payers and give it to the religious Jewish state of Israel to help Israel continue to build its military. Now Israel want’s more cash from Americans. And they will get it due to US politicians caring much more about their own political careers than right and wrong and their own people and nation. The overly powerful Israel lobby is at the apex of who and what US politicians want to please because the Israel lobby can make or break a politician’s political career.
The US Constitution outlaws the mixing of government and religion. I’m far from a constitutional expert, but isn’t it a violation of the US Constitution’s principle of separation of religion and government for the US government to support the religious Jewish state of Israel? And to support the Judaism based state of Israel over all other religious states?
The Deist George Washington was right when he warned us about favoring one nation over another. He said in his Farewell Address, “. . . a passionate attachment of one nation for another produces a variety of evils. Sympathy for the favorite nation, facilitating the illusion of an imaginary common interest in cases where no real common interest exists, and infusing into one the enmities of the other, betrays the former into a participation in the quarrels and wars of the latter without adequate inducement or justification. It leads also to concessions to the favorite nation of privileges denied to others which is apt doubly to injure the nation making the concessions; by unnecessarily parting with what ought to have been retained, and by exciting jealousy, ill-will, and a disposition to retaliate, in the parties from whom equal privileges are withheld. And it gives to ambitious, corrupted, or deluded citizens (who devote themselves to the favorite nation), facility to betray or sacrifice the interests of their own country, without odium, sometimes even with popularity; gilding, with the appearances of a virtuous sense of obligation, a commendable deference for public opinion, or a laudable zeal for public good, the base or foolish compliances of ambition, corruption, or infatuation.”
Based on the above quote from George Washington, everything he warned America about regarding favoring one nation over another has come true regarding our “special relationship” with Israel. And it’s getting worse day by day!
When we stop and think, we realize favoring one nation over all others is harmful to us and to the world. Add to that the element of “revealed” religious violence which Israel is based upon, and the situation is much worse. For added to all the things Washington enumerated in his warning not to do it, we must add the unthinking religious zeal which motivates Israel’s unending expansion and violence against its neighbors. We should take into consideration what another American founder and Deist, Thomas Paine, wrote in The Age of Reason, The Complete Edition, about the mindset of the Jews, “The Jews made no converts; they butchered all.” That Judaic mindset is a key reason for all the religious violence in the Middle East.
It is painfully evident to any thinking mind that the leaders of the present Jewish state of Israel believes Israel is based on the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament, whether you agree with them or not. When you realize that the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament is primarily concerned with making Israel the ruler of the world (Deuteronomy 28:1 which says God said to Israel, “the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth” and Isaiah 60:12 which says that God said regarding Gentile nations serving Israel, “For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted”) it makes all Gentile politicians from Gentile nations who support Israel guilty of treason.
The neoconservatives and the Jewish and Christian Zionists have brought about one unnecessary war against Iraq and now they are pushing for a new unnecessary war against Iran. We need to do all we can to see to it that our innate God-given reason prevails and war is averted.
