forgive me-bushBush Begged For Forgiveness Over A Love Affair, Not Iraq

By Sherwood Ross

Just minutes before undergoing urgent heart surgery, the “Globe” reports in a cover story, ex-President George W. Bush begged his wife, Laura, to forgive him for his affair with Condoleezza Rice, his Secretary of State.

“The drama unfolded after Bush, 67, was diagnosed with a deadly blockage in an artery in his heart and doctors ordered immediate action to clear the clog,” “Globe” reporter Leon Wagener writes. “He was petrified his boozing and years of hard living had finally caught up with him.”
Bush was operated on August 6th at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Wagener said. “Now he’s begging Laura to forgive and forget the past and take him back so he can live out the time he has left with his family,” Wagener writes.
According to what the “Globe” dubbed its “world exclusive breaking news” scoop, Bush’s troubled conscience did not cause him to beg forgiveness for making the criminal assault on Iraq that killed perhaps a million civilians. It did not cause him to regret the trillions of dollars he wasted on wars that could have transformed America into the garden spot of the world. As for forcing millions of people out of their homes, bombing civilian targets such as hospitals, Bush apparently had no regrets.
It has now gotten to the point where U.S. presidents routinely wage undeclared wars against smaller nations, taking care not to tangle with any powerhouse that could give the Pentagon a real problem. Of course, life is full of surprises, such as when China entered the Korean War or when England and France notified Herr Hitler that invading Poland was going to have consequences. The outcome of a war is never certain; war can be full of ugly surprises.
At the moment, President Obama appears to be considering an attack on Syria via an action that would bypass the United Nations. He could inflict immense damage from an airborne assault despite strong anti-war sentiment within his own party and country. But the U.S. has not cleaned up the mess yet it made from its attack on Iraq! That country remains in shambles with little electricity in a climate of scorching heat. That war is said to have cost the U.S. 3 trillion dollars but it cost Iraqis a lot more in killed and wounded.
Who can imagine former President Bush apologizing to the Iraqi people? He does apologize to Laura, however. Could that be because he only thinks of himself?
