Three Ways to Get Over Your Fear about Blogging Business

I know many people who are such good writers but get so nervous every time the idea of guest blogging gets mentioned. It’s understandable to feel this way, but the truth is that most people truly have nothing to worry about. You just need to give yourself a chance and keep moving forward in order to get over the fear.

It’s normal to feel anxious when you are a guest blogger. It’s public and on the internet for the entire world to see. You also don’t know how people are going to react to your opinions. So keep reading for three ways to deal with the fear so you can get your blog going.
Positive Self-Talk
Your thoughts can be your best friend or your worst enemy. A famous quote from Henry Ford states, “weather you think you can or can’t, you’re right.” Mr. Ford was referring to a person’s thoughts. Thinking one way or the other doesn’t affect the reality of your skills, he just knew that at the end of the day, doing anything is simply a matter of belief turned into action. Give yourself some positive reinforcement. Tell yourself, “I can do this” and get writing. If a negative thought gets into your mind then explore it. Where is this thought coming from? Realize that this thought is not really you, and give yourself more encouragement again.
Take Pride in your Ability
If you’ve gone to school then you’ve written things before. And if you’ve done some writing in the past then you can certainly blog. Also, take a look around the web and see just how much content there is out there. It’s truly astonishing. To blogatize or not? Recognize that you have the skill to be a blogger too, and be comfortable knowing that you will improve over time. Be patient with yourself learning this new skill and take pride that you’re doing something most people are terrified to do! You’re a champion.
Let Go of Yourself
The fear about blogging is not a fear about writing. It’s a fear about being humiliated. It’s a fear of being judged by nasty and critical readers from all four corners of the world. But honestly, what’s the worst that can happen? A few people who you’ll never meet don’t like what you wrote. Big deal. Remember, you’re practicing and getting better with each blog post. Laugh at your early blogs and don’t take it so seriously. Blogs can be whatever you want them to be. There are no rules. So enjoy the experience and the growth you’ll make by blogging regularly.
At the end of the day, you just need to get writing. The more you do it the more you’ll get into a groove and it will start to get easier. If it gets tough, just remember to give yourself some more positive self-talk, take pride in your ability, and don’t take yourself so seriously.
