How to Get Money before Your Paycheck Comes

It seems to never fail that an emergency will strike right before your paycheck comes. Thank goodness, there are numerous ways to legitimately get money in a hurry.

Selling Plasma

Selling plasma is a great way to earn extra money while doing something good for humanity. If you are healthy, you can earn up to $300 a month. Since your red blood cells are returned to your body, you can donate your plasma more often than your blood. The general rule is that you can donate twice a week, at least two days apart from each other. In most cases, you’ll receive a prepaid debit card loaded with your funds.

Have a Garage Sale

Garage sales are another way to make a quick buck simply because buyers are there with cash. This is the time to clean your home out, garage, basement, or anyplace you can find valuables. Don’t think that anything could be considered junk, because one man’s junk is another man’s treasure. Try to be firm with your pricing and ask buyers who want to negotiate to stop back in later to see if the item is still there.

Sell Back Your Used Books and Games

Instead of selling your used books and games at a garage sale, sell them back to the campus bookstore and head to a resale video game shop. You’ll get much more back from these stores if they are in good condition. If it’s right around the time college sessions are starting back, you may also get lucky listing your college textbook for sale on Amazon. College students need to maximize their funds. You can also save on shipping and time if the purchaser is not too far from you; you can offer to bring the book over.

Make Your Spare Couch Available

If you feel comfortable doing so, try renting your couch or spare room out for a few days. If you have a friend coming to town, explain your situation and offer them a deal. Your home may be much more comfortable than a hotel and they can save money in the process as well. It could be car repairs, you are late turning in your rent, you need to travel to see a sick relative, or need money for a paycheck advance.

Go Door To Door in Your Neighborhood

Check your neighborhood and see if there is work to be done. Manual labor will get you cash on the spot and secure future business. Ask elderly or busy neighbors if you can mow their lawn. Get a list of customers together, come back with your lawn mower, and start beautifying the neighborhood. Other services to offer include gutter cleaning, pool cleaning, painting, and even helping with basement organization. If it’s wintertime, you can shovel front sidewalks, driveways, and clean snow off cars.

Recycle

Finally, check around your home or neighborhood for recyclable items. Eleven states have a bottle or aluminum can deposit and most people do not go back for their cash. Check parks, school grounds, and cafeterias. You can also take scrap metal you find to recycling centers and salvage yards.
