Business today is moving at lightning speed. Whether your business is large or small, chances are your internet connection is vital to day-to-day operations. More and more software applications are moving to the cloud or being offered as SAAS (Software as a Service) and now require a dedicated high speed internet connection. Selecting the right internet connection for your business can be confusing if you don’t know what to look for. Here are some options of internet connections for businesses.

Wireless

Though there are often data limits, a wireless connection through your mobile device company can provide a high-speed connection for small companies with 1-3 computers.

DSL

DSL connections use a regular phone line and provides high speed access with a constant connection. DSL is one of the most economical choices and is often the best choice for companies with 1-24 computers. SecureNet Information Services is a good example of DSL high speed internet for small businesses.

Cable

Cable connections, currently the most popular connections for most average-sized businesses, provide speeds high enough for several dozen connections. Cable connections are roughly five times faster than that of DSL connections and can support dozens of computers.

Fiber Optic

Fiber Optic connections are relatively new and provide superior speeds and performance. They can offer connection speeds roughly two times that of cable connections. Because of the greater connection speed, fiber optic connections are great for businesses with several dozen computers.

Satellite

Satellite connections as the name implies are sent through a satellite signal and received through a dish or receiver outside and then carried inside through a cable or wirelessly. These connections are great for companies that are in rural areas where there may not be access to wireless, cable or DSL service.
When choosing an internet service provider, keep in mind what your daily business needs are and how many computers will be connected simultaneously. If your business is small, you may be able to get by with an economical choice like DSL or wireless. However, if you have more than three connections simultaneously, you will probably want to go with a faster connection like cable or fiber optic. If you are doing business in a rural area, Satellite Internet is going to be your best bet. There are many available options and with the right research, you can find the best service for your business.
