The Vice President of the United States made a stop in San Antonio, where he spoke in front of more than a thousand student veterans at the 2015 Student Veterans of American National Conference at the JW Marriot on Friday night.
The Vice President gave motivational pep talk to the student veterans. He told the crowd that they are part of the most remarkable generation in history – the Post 9/11 generation.
“Reach back and grab those who aren’t here in this room tonight. Reach back. Let them know that it’s okay to take the chance. Remind them if they can do what they were able to do on the field, they can do whatever needs to be done in the classroom,” Biden said.
He said veterans are the best trained warriors the world has ever known and he urged everyone in the room to continue their obligation to their country by continuing their education.
Biden went on to say that just because the men and women are no longer in the military, it does not mean their service to America is over. He said it is just the beginning.
“Go get that education. Keep the faith because you are the masters of your fate and you will determine where your country goes. God bless you all and may God protect our troops,” the Vice President said.
The conference ends on Sunday.
