The enchanting city of Istanbul has a lot to offer to travellers with many extraordinary cultural experiences, wondrous discoveries and sights waiting to be appreciated, explored and enjoyed. The city offers up breath-taking sights such as a beautiful skyline sprinkled with domes and minarets. Narrow cobbled streets with quaint old houses make up the old quarter where years of history awaits discovery. The city is filled with the aromatic scent of the Spice Bazaars and echoing through the streets is the sound of muezzins duelling from the minarets.
Beautifully located either side of the Bosphorus Strait the magical city of Istanbul is unlike any other city in the world. It is where East meets West as the waterway that connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara splits Istanbul between continents.
Located near the beautiful Bosphorous Strait in the heart of the exclusive Nisantasi district is the St. Regis Hotel.
To celebrate the opening of the St. Regis Hotel in Istanbul renowned Emmy award winning actor and director John Malkovich was commissioned to write and direct a short film about Istanbul and love.
A Postcard from Istanbul tells the story of a writer (played by Julian Sands) who meets a beautiful local guide (played by Belcim Bilgin) who introduces him to the magical city’s captivating sights, sounds and flavours.
The film brings the allure, magic and culture of the remarkable city to life with shots of beautiful iconic landmarks, precious views of the city’s rich culture and historic charm along with views of the St. Regis Hotel. Entwined with the remarkable views and the intriguing story is specially produced music by Turkish musician Ilhan Ersahin as well as the evocative poem I Am Listening To Istanbul by Turkish poet Orhan Veli Kanik.
Enter the magical world of Istanbul and be introduced to the remarkable city with the film A Postcard of Istanbul. Take a look at the captivating trailer for the film below –
