With two naval bases, a large military retiree community and a significant portion of the workforce with military experience, it’s no surprise that Jacksonville has been selected to participate in the Veterans Economic Communities Initiative, according to a statement.
The goal of the initiative is to increase education and employment opportunities for veterans. The campaign will bring together local and national employers to provide services for veterans, active service members and military families.
The city of Jacksonville was selected by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to connect local employers with veterans.
