El Paso lawmakers back bills to help veterans start businesses, find jobs

Local veterans can expect to have help finding jobs and possibly starting their own businesses thanks to new legislation.
“We know that the need is there. It’s a real need. It’s a desperate need,” said John Ceballos of the Benavidez-Patterson 82nd Airborne Division Association.
He said members of his veterans association have struggled adjusting to life outside the service.
“Some of these individuals have been out of mainstream society for so long, that they would need some of this education to help them learn how to take care of their finances and manage money,” Ceballos said.
