Nueces County receives veterans grant

The Veterans Assistance program helps low-income veterans and their families with finances and other resources.
Corpus Christi Veteran, Leo Rios, served in the US Marine Corp from 1973 to 1977 as a data processing computer specialist.
He was at a meeting discussing issues with other veterans when he first found out about the Veterans Assistance Program, he says while he didn’t need financial help, he applied to get help with other resources they had to offer.
Leo Rios, US Marine Corp Veteran said, “I was fortunate enough to be around for getting the help when I needed it and without that help I really don’t know what would have happened. It probably wouldn’t have been anything good.”
