Iraqi Resistance Forces Besiege ISIL in Beiji
TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Iraqi resistance commander announced that his forces have laid siege on the ISIL terrorists in the Western parts of Beiji and are preparing for a large-scale offensive soon.

“The Islamic resistance forces have besieged Sinia region in Western Beiji and will attack the ISIL’s positions in coming hours,” Abu Torab, Commander of Ali Akbar Battalion, told FNA on Sunday.

Abu Torab noted that the resistance forces have blocked the terrorists’ supply line, and said, “17 vehicles of the ISIL were destroyed in the resistance forces’ attacks on terrorists’ positions.”

Beiji, located 40 kilometers to the North of Tikrit, has been the scene of heavy clashes between Iraqi force and Takfiri terrorists in recent weeks.

Beiji is located in Salahuddin province and 210 kilometers to the North of Baghdad. Iraq’s biggest oil refinery is located in Beiji.

The ISIL Takfiri terrorists currently control shrinking swathes of Syria and Iraq. They have threatened all communities, including Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians, Ezadi Kurds and others, as they continue their atrocities in Iraq.

Senior Iraqi officials have blamed Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and some Persian Gulf Arab states for the growing terrorism in their country.

The ISIL has links with Saudi intelligence and is believed to be indirectly supported by the Israeli regime.

Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Repels Terrorists’ Attack on Western Aleppo
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian army thwarted a series of attacks by the Takfiri terrorists on a strategic region in Aleppo province, Northern Syria.

The Takfiri terrorists were trying to attack a strategic region of Jamiat al-Zahra in Western Aleppo, but they failed.

Aleppo has been the scene of heavy clashes between the terrorists and the Syrian troops in the last several weeks.

Also in the past 24 hours, the Syrian army backed by popular defense forces seized back a strategic town in Hama province.

The army units took control of al-Karima town before starting their advances towards Sahl al-Qab region in Western Hama.

Al-Karima town is of strategic importance because it links the three provinces of Homs, Idlib and Lattakia.

The victory in Karima paves the way for the Syrian army to move towards Shal al-Qab region.

Elsewhere, the Syrian army and the Lebanese Hezbollah forces continued their advances in the Western parts of the town of al-Zobdani.

Al-Zobdani is now the scene of fierce clashes between the Syrian and Lebanese forces and militants of Jeish al-Fath terrorist group.

The Syrian air force and artillery units started pounding the terrorists’ positions as the country’s troops are advancing on the ground.

The Syrian troops and resistance forces gained full control over the strategic region of al-Jamiat on Saturday night.

Meantime, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan admitted that Ankara has directly supported terrorists in Syria.

“If it were not due to the support of Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar for the militants in Syria, they could not have achieved anything,” Erdogan said on Sunday, Turkish-language daily Hurriyat reported.

He noted that Ankara, Riyadh and Doha have supplied military and logistical backup for the terrorists.

Erdogan’s remarks came as his Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu denied any cooperation between Turkey and Saudi Arabia in supporting the foreign-backed terrorists.

Also, former Turkish Foreign Minister Yaşar Yakış blasted Ankara and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for interfering in Syria’s internal affair, including military intervention in that country.

His remarks came after certain Arab media claimed that Turkey is paving the ground for military intervention in Syria amid the Syrian army and Kurdish forces’ united operations to defend their lands against the ISIL in the Northeastern city of Hasaka.

“The Turkish government is not entitled to interfere in the domestic affairs of Syria and disrespect Syria’s territorial integrity under any pretext,” Yakış told the Turkish media.

The former Turkish foreign minister reiterated that Turkish military operation in Syria would be an invasion of a neighboring country.

He pointed to Turkey’s military operation in Cyprus in 1974 and its negative consequences, and said, ““Only a UNSC decision would legitimize such an incursion.”

Syria has been engulfed in civil war since March 2011. Damascus has been engaged in battles on multiple fronts, against the so-called moderate opposition and numerous extremist insurgent groups, including the ISIL militant group.
