From Iran, a brother to veterans everywhere

Jerry Mortazavi is a veteran but not allowed to join the Disabled American Veterans, American Legion or other veterans groups.
That hasn’t stopped him from being one of the biggest supporters of the veterans in northeast Oklahoma.

There’s almost nothing, from fundraisers to special projects to personal favors, that Mortazavi hasn’t done for veterans.
Yet he is not allowed in the organizations.
“I was in the Iranian Imperial Navy,” said Mortazavi. “You have to be an American vet to be in those groups.
