Lewis Jordan and his wife, Joni, decided to give back graciously to the community after Lewis ended his 49-year airline industry career. While they gave back to many charitable causes, they knew they wanted to spend their retirement giving back to the country that had given them so many opportunities for success. It inspired them to found GratitudeAmerica to help veterans suffering with the post traumatic stress disorder and the invisible wounds of war.
The nonprofit organization’s primary goal is to provide critical support for past and present military service members and their families during their return to civilian life. It accomplishes this goal by offering retreat programs that use restorative approaches to assist participants affected by deployment exposures such as PTSD and traumatic brain injury.
