  • The 35 Delta Process

The 35 Delta approach combines syndicated funding with disciplined operating process to buy, refurbish and sell small companies to Veterans. Former military have an experience advantage. They have been taught to break complex tasks into standard operating procedures and rigorously teach individuals and teams how to effectively conduct these procedures through repetitive training. At 35 Delta we offer Veterans a path to business ownership by recreating companies in a way that the Veteran can use their experience advantage in an environment that will look, and feel familiar.

The 35 Delta process is divided into four stages:

1: Identifying & Making an Acquisition

In the first stage the 35 Delta team identifies and acquires a small service business in Colorado. Using a systematic targeting and structuring process, this process can take up to six months. The target companies have 10 to 25 employees and provide skilled services to the consumers. Once a target is identified, the 35 Delta team does due diligence, negotiates structure, and deploys the 35 Delta fund to complete the acquisition.

2: Refurbish the Operating Process
The 35 Delta refurbishment process is designed to “bring the company to the Veteran.” They take thirty days to get all of the experience that is usually in the head of the seller down into procedures using a proven, structured process. With clear procedures drafted, they hire and retrain the staff in standard procedures for an additional 30 days. A 35 Delta professional sits in the General Manager’s chair ensuring every process is attended to and clear. After this intensive refurbishing process, the company is ready for the Veteran.

3: Hire Veteran as General Manager
There are 424,000 Veterans in Colorado, 56,000 of whom served in the Iraq/Afghanistan conflict. Their goal is to share their materials and engage with 600 Veterans of whom 11 will choose to join the 35 Delta process. Once hired as a General Manager of a 35 Delta company, the Veteran leverages their experience advantage and the established procedure based in the service business to learn how to successfully run and grow a small business. With this leadership and process in place, the refurbished company will grow its sales and increase its value.

4: Sell the Business to the Veteran
After two years as General Manager, the Veteran will have deep experience in all aspects of the company, its operations and financing. The company will have grown stably and is ready for the next step. The Veteran is ready to buy the company through advantageous financing provided by 35 Delta and an ownership structure that will support the veteran as they grow and thrive.
