For 168 years, the campus has been a catalyst for the extraordinary. As a public land-grant university and prolific research institution, their students and faculty members partake in a world-class education and solve real-world problems. They’ve changed the way the nation takes its vitamins and brought flamingos to Bascom Hill. They’ve inspired satirists and senators alike. They’ve fearlessly sifted and winnowed to find today’s truths. And with the Wisconsin Idea as their guiding principle, they’re not only changing the 936 acres they call home—Badgers are also creating a better future for Wisconsin, the nation, and the world.
As a part of the 2014 leadership restructuring, the Graduate School is now a unit within the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education. The Graduate School will continue to be the home of graduate programs across campus. The graduate faculty continue to be represented through the shared governance of the Graduate Faculty Executive Committee and the Graduate School Academic Planning Council, which are both chaired by the Dean of the Graduate School. The Grad School will continue to seek the feedback of graduate students, directors of graduate study, graduate program coordinators, and faculty and staff colleagues throughout the implementation of the restructuring.
