Homeless Santa Cruz veterans to run LED light factory

Paddy Brady has a plan to end homelessness in Santa Cruz — and maybe the entire U.S. The great irony is he developed the model in the poorest country in the world.
With help from likeminded local leaders, Brady is opening a factory to build groundbreaking solar-powered LED light systems and hire homeless U.S. military veterans to run it.
The story of Bright Vision Solar began, as many stories do, with a knock on a door. The year was 2013. Brady, a Santa Cruz humanitarian and surf evangelist, had stopped by the Santa Cruz Gardens area home of “mad scientist” and friend Tom McClellan to say goodbye before Brady lit out for the African country of Malawi.
