Caring for our nation’s veterans and their families continues to be the guiding mission of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) — a mission that is having a ripple-effect on smaller, more rural communities looking to honor area veterans.

“In conjunction with support from the McKean County veterans, area veteran’s service organizations, Erie VA Medical Center, and the McKean County Careerlink vet rep, we have put together a Resource Fair and Town Hall for area veterans and their families,” according to McKean County Veterans Affairs Director Zach Pearson.

The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 18 at the VFW & American Legion located at 61 East Main St. in Mount Jewett. It is free and open to veterans and their families.
