Office of Military and Veterans Affairs Offers simulation to help faculty and staff

Western Michigan University is home to many military students. In today’s world, there are many pressures that can lead to emotional distress, depression, substance abuse and more for these students. The Office of Military and Veterans Affairs has adopted a new training simulation for WMU faculty and staff to be better prepared to help military students facing these pressures.

The Veterans on Campus for Faculty & Staff is an online and interactive simulation to assist faculty in knowing how to aid and understand the issues that may affect military and veteran students. The thirty-minute simulation puts faculty and staff through role-playing with virtual students and gain experience in recognizing important signs that students may need help.
