Onslow County – Veteran Thrift Store USA will be opening soon in Jacksonville. Its goal is to help veterans in need in the community.
A Marine Corps veteran, Myron McCutcheon, is running the store. It is not open yet. He is still accepting donations of clothing, toys, housewares, furniture and other items. Once he can get the store full, he will sell the goods and use the proceeds to help veterans in need. McCutcheon will screen veterans who come to them to determine their need.
“Communities helping communities,” McCutcheon said. “We believe strongly in that and we have such a strong passion for helping our veterans and their families.”
