Veterans say support is much needed

Veterans gathered for Veterans Resource Day at the Joshua Tree Community Center Monday. The center was filled from wall to wall with representatives from agencies ready to help veterans.
Organizations like the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, DeVry, Copper Mountain College, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and there California Highway Patrol were present, just to name a few.
Elite Cosmetology was also present, giving haircuts to anyone interested. Veterans said the resource day was a welcome change.
“We need more VA resources; the nearest vet center is in San Bernardino,” veteran Matt Cast said. “We try and we’re getting there and we are really good at banding together as a community.”
