Improving the health and health care of women Veterans is a high priority within the Department of Veterans Affairs, said a panel of leading researchers on March 27.
This year’s theme is “Health, Healing and Harmony: Reducing Stress and Promoting Health.”
The Department of Veterans Affairs has released a series of videos in which women Veterans describe their experiences serving in the military, ranging from their significant contributions to national safety and security to the challenges they faced during their service and after returning to civilian life.
Women Veterans are encouraged to keep those two words in mind every month, not just in October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And then to follow up by talking with their health care provider about appropriate breast cancer screenings, such as regular mammograms.
