Note of Thanks to Bobby for Sticking it to the Nazi Bastard Officer Corps

Bobby Hanafin and I would be turned out in the cold or, perhaps even reported as terrorists for telling it "like it is" rather than repeating the endless lies and blither the phony military sites support when they are not selling t-shirts and belt buckles.  A short note today jumping on something Bobby came up with.

Bobby had been a member of the MOAA, Military Officers Association of America for years and has indicated that he is no longer comfortable with that group.  I know them to be ultra right wing "benefit hounds" who use their power and influence to keep up privileges and benefits for their members, officers and officer retirees, generally at the cost of running our military competently and keeping America secure.

Politically, the MOAA belongs in a banana republic or dictatorship of some kind.  They would be much more comfortable in a country with no elections, death squads, concentration camps and the right to flog troops at will for failing to keep their cocktails coming, their boots shined and their putting greens up to PGA standards…

This is who they are and this is all they care about. 

The MOAA lobbys against disabled veterans, giving good equipment to troops, taking care of military families, except their own and dozens of key issues that serve our armed forces.  If real soldiers tried to form a union, even retired ones, and continually interfered with military policy and issues of leadership and strategy, they would be branded terrorists.  When the privileged form a union, just as long as they follow the big money boys, their every wish is seen as a command, expecially when those wishes make them little more than OVERPAID WELFARE HOGS.

Now the MOAA has joined in aiding the military in its deceptive recruiting practices whereby decent and sometimes foolish Americans are snared into virtual slavery by our military based on lies and propaganda.

Few of our officers ever get killed in combat, lose their civilian jobs, end up in Walter Reed warehouses or sleep in the mud.  I have a wealth of experience watching officers say goodbye to combat units that went out to fight in Vietnam.  Few of us even knew the names of our own officers.

Enlisted men are recruited with promises of glory and expressions of patriotism.  The military recruits officers, something I had been subjected to many times, based on IMPROVED LIVING CONDITIONS, SURVIVABILITY, PAY AND INCREASED SELF ESTEEM.

BEING LED IN COMBAT BY SOMEONE LOOKING FOR BETTER FOOD AND A WARM BED HAS CAUSED MORE THAN A FEW MILITARY DISASTERS. 

For the decent, competent and caring officers who may read this, accept my apologies.  For any of you who have failed to speak up about the cowards and slackers who surround you, accept a kick in the pants well deserved.

Loyalty to the Army, as seen and taught in our service academies, has too often turned out to, in the end, be disloyalty to real American values and the welfare of our troops.

The MOAA is just another crooked trade union, like the ones the doctors have to help keep them out of jail for fixing fees and overbilling medicare.

A union is a union.  Uniforms and flags don't make petty thieves anything more than they are.
