U.S. Department of Defense Announces Latest Contract Awards: 8-07-08

zzz_DOD_contracts            Schutt Industries, Inc., Clintonville, Wis., was awarded on Aug. 5, 2008, a $16,027,200.00 firm fixed price, contract for the procurement of light tactical trailers.  Work will be performed in Clintonville, Wis., and is expected to be completed by Aug. 4, 2013. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Fifteen bids were received on Nov. 8, 2007.  TACOM, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (W56HZV-08-D-0107).
 
            Silver Eagle Manufacturing Co., Portland, Ore., was awarded on Aug. 5, 2008, a $17,916,876.00 firm fixed price, contract for procurement of light tactical trailers. Work will be performed in Portland, Ore., and is expected to be completed by Aug. 4, 2013. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Fifteen bids were received on Nov. 8, 2007. TACOM, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (W56HZV-08-D-0106).
 
            AM General, LLC, South Bend, Ind., was awarded on Aug. 6, 2008, a $36,857,144.00 firm fixed price, contract for purchase of Armored Personnel Troop Carrier Kits installed on High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicles. Work will be performed in Mishawaka, Ind., and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2009. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was one bid solicited on Mar. 17, 2006, and one bid was received. TACOM, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity (DAAE07-01-C-S001). 
                   Avon Protection Systems, Inc., was awarded on Aug. 6, 2008, a $9,136,908 cost plus fixed fee and firm fixed price, contract for Joint Service General Purpose Masks. Work will be performed in Cadillac, Mich., and is expected to be completed by Jul. 31, 2018. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was one bid solicited on Oct. 4, 2007, and one bid was received. US Army Research and Development Command, is the contracting activity (DAAD13-00-C-0021).
 
            TASC, Inc., Andover, Mass., was awarded on Aug. 6, 2008, a $6,719,533.05 indefinite delivery indefinite quantity-CPAF, contract for Afghanistan Ministry of Interior Counter Narcotics Aviation Squadron support. Work will be performed in Andover, Mass, and is expected to be completed by Aug. 5, 2009. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. There was one bid solicited on May 29, 2008 and one bid was received. USA Space and Missile Defense Command, Huntsville, Ala., is the contracting activity (W9113M-07-D-0007).
NAVY
 
            Protective Products International, Sunrise, Fla., is being awarded a $17,395,304 delivery order #0003 under a previously awarded firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract (M67854-07-D-3065) for 28,364 MTVs (modular tactical vests) and associated new equipment training.  Work will be performed in Sunrise, Fla., (60 percent); Granite Falls, N.C., (30 percent); and Fenton, Mo., (10 percent), and work is expected to be completed Oct. 2009. Contract funds in the amount of $17,395,304 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was a sole source award.  The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Va., is the contracting activity.
 
            Automation Precision Technology, LLC (APT).*, Norfolk, Va., is being awarded a $20,179,016 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the procurement of turn-key Master At Arms class "A" school courses on behalf of the Center for Security Forces, Little Creek, Va. Work will be performed in Norfolk, Va., and is expected to be completed in Jul. 2013. Contract funds in the amount of $89,341 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured through an electronic request for proposals and four offers were received. The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division, Orlando, Fla., is the contracting activity (N61339-08-D-0002).
 
AIR FORCE
 
            The Boeing Co., of Kent, Wash., is being awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity, fixed price delivery order contract not to exceed $42 million. This action will provide the Radar System Improvement Program capability to be installed on five Royal Saudi Air Force AWACS jets. This effort supports foreign military sales to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. At this time $27,297,845 has been obligated. 551 ELSG/PKS, Hanscom AFB, Mass., is the contracting (F19628-01-D-0016, DO 0062)
