Is This The New America?

The Associated Press is running a story presently on AOL News outlining the arrest of 40 people on corruption charges in New Jersey yesterday.  The story is here.  I’ve gotta’ be fair and post this story.

Now, I gotta’ eat some humble pie here.  For years I have been hammering Bush and his Republican shrubs for being the most corrupt, inane, deaf to the needs of citizens, landed-gentry, greed mongering liars that ever graced the national scene of this nation.  I still believe that is true.  But that leaves the various State level sociopaths off the hook. That just ain’t fair! I don’t want to do that. 

I grew up in and around Phila. PA and every summer it was a Philly fan’s dream to spend a few days down the Jersey Shore.  It was our working class Cape Cod.  JOISEY! Home of the corrupt Democrat! Ah!  The smell of freshly minted money coming directly out of the basement!  It is time for me to slam Democrats.  Mark this day on your calendar.  It is a very special day when you see me do that….play the lottery today…it could be your day.  It sure was not their day yesterday.  Enjoy this.  It leaves a certain bittersweet taste in your mouth.  You will feel like you are reading the paper next to Tony Soprano.  You will probably keep looking over your shoulder as you read.

This is America?  This is what all of us served in uniform to protect?  It makes the Taliban government look downright Puritanical.
