WIMSA may close

Just today I learned that the Women In Military Service for America (WIMSA)memorial may shut down due to lack of funding.  WIMSA is privately funded and without your help this beautiful facility will close.  For those that have not seen it, WIMSA is at the entrance to Arlington National Cemetary in Washington, DC.

I find that very fitting because Women are what supports and makes this country run and we are the backbone of the nation when we are at war.  This has never been more evident than now with so many women warriors coming home wounded and dead or murdered by her fellow soldier.

Currently, WIMSA is running an exhibit on the WASPs(some of which were just awarded the Medal of Honor by congress recently) to include uniforms, patches and the testimony of these women.  WIMSA, also, displays the same material or similiar from all eras of services.

Constantly, there is a video stream of  Women from all branches, ranks, and ages that plays and tells their story.  Any female can submit her story and it will be recorded for all time.  It would be  pity if all time is not for all time.  Just to let you know WIMSA does not receive 1 dime from the federal government to keep itself going so every little bit hellps…..
