Gulf War Veteran Update

 

Veteran’s Affairs Advisory Committee on Gulf War Veterans Advisory  is holding their last meeting on Wednesday and Thursday in DC on Wednesday and Thursday.  There is a phone line to use to listen in on this two day wrap up.  They are continuing their work on reccommendations and their final report.  The listen in line can be gotten by calling in to get the number 202-461-5758.

Also we here at VT want comments from Gulf War Veterans of 90-91.  WE need your input in the following areas:

1.  Have you been pleased with your care at the VA?

2.  Do your doctors at the VA seem knowledgeable on Gulf War Illness?

3.  Have you participated in any of the funded research programs, tell us about your experience.

     

4.  If you have not participated in a Gulf War Illness Research program can you tell us why not?

5.  Have your doctors at VA addressed your gulf war illness complaints?  Tell us how that has been.

6.  Have you been successful in getting a VA Claim for your problems?  Please give us a short rundown on what that has been like for you.  Include information as appropriate which VA hospital, region, service officer, etc.

7.  What are your feelings about the Cancellation of the VA and UT Southwestern Medical Center (Dallas- Dr Haley) Collaborative Center?

8.  Have you been to the War Related Illness Injury Study Center  WRIIS in Washington,DC or East Orange New Jersey?

9.  Have you had a Gulf War Veterans Registry Exam?  Many of these were done in the 90’s.  Tell us your experience.

10.  Have you used Civilian Doctors and how have they helped you?

11.  What is your opinions on how you the Gulf War Veteran ODS 90-91 has been treated?  How do you feel concerning the VA’s response to gulf war illness?
