The university is one of the nation’s largest teacher-training institutions, and 95 percent of the College of Education’s graduates with teaching credentials are employed full-time a year after graduation. Moreover, the College of Education now offers the university’s first doctoral program, an Ed.D. in educational leadership. CSUSB’s extended education programs in business writing and language skills, technology, entrepreneurship and conference management are some of the state’s busiest.

The university’s student population is one of the most diverse in California, with a student enrollment so diverse that there is no majority ethnic group on campus.

The growth of the region has meant continued capital development for the university, which continues to construct new facilities to provide students, faculty and staff with an excellent learning and working environment equipped with superior technological capabilities.

Recent projects include the Chemical Sciences Building, Student Recreation and Fitness Center, University Village student housing complex, the expanded Santos Manuel Student Union, the renovated biological sciences and physical sciences buildings, the College of Education Building, two new parking structures and a new perimeter road to serve the 430-acre campus. CSUSB claims the largest indoor arena in San Bernardino and Riverside counties (Coussoulis Arena) and a renowned visual arts gallery and museum in the Robert V. Fullerton Art Museum, one among only 4 percent in the United States that are accredited by the American Association of Museums.
