Oceania was at war withIn a long but very fine Newsweek article entitled A Farewell to Victory journalist Katie Paul explains to us why the words ‘victory’ or ‘defeat’ in warfare generally have little meaning anymore.  It is a solid and meticulous look at wars past and present and is a good window into many things, including the never ending warfare state that seems to be the very basis of our economic direction.  The clarity here is unusual.

I recommend this read.  You will learn a lot.
