Edward H. Seiler, Director of the Huntington VA Medical Center, extends an invitation to Veterans, their families and members of the community to attend a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Homeless Veterans Resource Center, located at 624 9th Street in Huntington on July 29, 2011 at 11 a.m.

Susan Angell, Ph.D., Director of VA Homeless Veterans Programs in Washington, D.C, will join us as the keynote speaker.  Congressman Nick J. Rahall, Jr., will also speak at the program.

The opening of the three-story, 8,500 sq ft. building represents a significant advancement of the Medical Center’s Homeless Veterans Program.  The Center allows for the relocation of VA homeless services in closer proximity to other community resources and expansion of services which are important steps in eliminating homelessness among Veterans in the Huntington area.

The Homeless Center will provide homeless Veterans with counseling, job assistance, housing referrals, group educational classes, as well as laundry and shower facilities. The Center also houses a large donation room.

A reception and tours will immediately follow the ceremony.
