Tony Blair agreed to blare Rupert Murdoch’s tune

“He essentially did the deal with the devil”

Leo Panitch, the Canada Research Chair in Comparative Political Economy and a Distinguished Research Professor of Political Science at York University in Toronto digs into the history of  Rupert Murdoch aka in Britain and Australia as ‘the Digger’. Panitch explains how Murdoch used Television and Newspaper power in shaping the Politics of Britain for 40 years, and in effect used sex scandal journalism to attack the left-wing of the UK Labour Party and later helped to create Tony Blair.

Panitch also added, Murdoch essentially bought himself the American citizenship in order to own the New York Post.

Panitch is the author of Global Capitalism and American Empire . His most recent release is American Empire and the Political Economy of International Finance. He is also a co-editor of the Socialist Register the latest volume of which is “The Crisis This Time.”
