Turbine Technician

Position Summary:

Performs precision mechanical work during new erection, upgrade, rehabilitation, overhaul, repair and troubleshooting of steam and gas turbines and auxiliary equipment at ADM corn and oil seed processing facilities.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate technical ability to maintain, overhaul and repair gas/steam turbines and generators as directed (either verbal or written) by a Supervisor
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify deficiencies, perform operational repairs and perform necessary housekeeping tasks
  • Review spare parts and assist in re-ordering as required
  • Assist in preparing detailed reports based upon findings and actions taken during new erection, upgrade, rehabilitation, overhaul, repair and troubleshooting of steam and gas turbines and auxiliary equipment
  • Must possess a working knowledge of industrial steam and gas turbines, associated generators and auxiliary equipment
  • Must be able to use hand or power tools
  • Must be able to read Precision Tools such as Micrometers, Indicators, Calipers, Scales etc.
  • Must be familiar with Laser Alignment
  • Must have the ability to operate overhead crane
  • Must be able to travel out-of-state and work away from home base up to 70% of the time
  • Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license, and social security card
  • Must be available for 24/7 call out and extended work days
  • Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and documentation skills
  • Must have the ability to work well in a dynamic group environment
  • Must be able to work in hazardous conditions, adverse weather, and cramped conditions
  • Must be able to perform heavy lifting
  • Must be able to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Must be able to maintain records, reports, or files
  • Must be able to understand technical operating, service or repair manuals
  • Must adhere to safety procedures and exhibit leadership in maintaining a safe work environment
  • Must have working knowledge of all types of rotating equipment
  • 5 years experience working with steam and gas turbines required.
