Afghan President Hamid Karzai left for Qatar to open office for the Taliban, his office said Saturday.

The president who had been officially invited by Qatari Amir, Hamd Bin-e-Khalifa would meet him and some other Qatari senior officials and talk on bilateral ties and expansion of cooperation and Afghan peace process, a statement from the presidential office said.

Some Afghan high ranking officials including foreign minister, Zalmai Rassoul, national security advisor, Dr. Rangeen Dadfar Spanta were accompanying and some other accompanied the president in his tour to Doha.
