The Detroit VA Healthcare System will host an event with Metamora-based nonprofit Suits for Soldiers Inc. to distribute business attire to veterans at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit on Monday.
It’s the first of two jobs events for veterans at the medical center. The second event is a hiring fair planned for March 1, said Lisa Olney, public affairs officer at the Detroit VA Healthcare System.
Olney said 1,000 suits for men and women will be available, and any veteran is eligible to receive one as long as they register – or have already registered – for VA health care and sign up to attend the March hiring fair.
Veterans must bring their resumes for review and feedback, along with their DD214 forms to prove they are veterans, Olney said.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Room B1290 at the center. For more information on Suits for Soldiers visit its website, www.suitsforsoldiers.org.
