ISIL spearheading agenda of US Armageddon: Analyst
… by Gordon Duff, VT Sr. Editor, … with Press TV, Tehran
US President Barack Obama’s continuing support for the Takfiri militants fighting in Iraq is putting forward Armageddon, an analyst writes for Press TV.
“What Obama is doing is obviously insane. Is there a chance he is involved in a strategy to push forward the timetable of ‘Armageddon’ while it can still be stopped?” Gordon Duff wrote in a column for the Press TV website.
The analyst was referring to Washington’s alleged training of the militants of the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) currently operating in Iraq.
Duff said the US is offering military training to ISIL militants under cover of special forces sent to Iraq to combat terrorism.
“These ‘fighters’ will, in actuality, be the cadre leaders for ISIL expansion, trained in US weapons, able to fly the helicopters, drive the tanks and use the heavy artillery the ISIL has and will continue to receive, some of it in secret shipments from Afghanistan,” wrote the analyst.
He said Obama’s recent budget request of USD 500 million has been spent on training the ISIL to invade Iraq.
“America is walking into a blunder Russia and China can’t fix and there is no one else left,” Duff wrote.
It was recently revealed that the ISIL militants were trained in 2012 by US instructors working at a secret base in Jordan. Iraq is currently witnessing a wave of violence unprecedented in recent years.
Over the past few days, Iraqi armed forces have been engaged in fierce clashes with the ISIL terrorists, who have overrun parts of the country in the past days and have announced a so-called Islamic caliphate in Iraq.
Senior Muslim clerics have condemned the ISIL atrocities.
