Raytheon has announced a five-year, $10 million commitment to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Student Veterans of America to support education programs for veterans and the children of veterans and current service members.
The funds will support science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education and mentorship programs in partnership with the two organizations. BCGA partners with every branch of the U.S. military and serves nearly half a million school-age military youth, while SVA, which boasts more than eleven hundred chapters in fifty states and four countries, provides a peer support network designed to help veterans transition to civilian life.
“Raytheon volunteerism is a key tenet of our culture that continues to manifest itself in mentoring and training in classrooms, afterschool programs and professional workshops,” said Raytheon Chairman and CEO Thomas A. Kennedy, a former U.S. Air Force captain.
