Across the United States from East to West and North to South, this is Your Radiation This Week.

When Less is More

I’m sure you have all heard that old saying. Here at Your Radiation This Week, it means that the radiation pronouncements from the people that make up those news releases are insanely Wrong.

The idea promoted is that radiation from a given nuclear event gradually decreases over a period of time. That makes sense to most people and, in fact, it is actually true. The tricky part is that radiation and “Lethality” are separate values and they can move in opposite directions at any given moment.

When calculating just how deadly a radioactive event was, and is now, one of the most important data points is exactly how long the core has been “burning” and at what rate. As in: “Did the nuclear core “burn” for three days, three years, or thirty years, for example?” Yes, it makes a difference, and it relates to what the reactor actually does.

All Uranium reactors make Plutonium, specifically Plutonium 239, from which thermonuclear weapons are made. Oh yea, reactors make prodigious amounts of waste heat, too, as a by-product of Plutonium production. Enterprising industrialists use a small portion [less than 33%] of the heat to boil water, the rest is usually dumped into the air or a convenient nearby ocean, lake or river.

When the reactor blows up and the multi-ton core leaves the building that does not mean it stops making deadly plutonium either. As the plutonium replaces uranium the radioactive fallout grows in Lethality while the overall radiactivity goes down slightly. This deadly process occurs for 35 years after the nuclear event, the already lethal radioactive fallout gets even worse. Then it just continues for millions of years.

Packaged and bundled with hundreds of other old, highly radioactive fuel rods in “casks,” the situation further worsens. Hundreds of the supposed “casks” are scattered across the planet. The casks are usually near populated areas. The killing power of a bunch of old, crumbling fuel rods is quite remarkable. The “casks” of titanium, steel, concrete and other expensive metals, all are ventilated and all are rotting from the inside out.

A Federal judge required a 10 year test on a cask for radioactive old fuel rods in the famed Yucca Mountain proposed federal fuel rod depository. The Yucca Mountain “bugs” and microbes ate through the government and nuker industry’s high dollar cask in a few years; far short of the required 10 year test. The casks had a claimed life span underground of 10,000 years. It’s purpose was to hold the equivalent of smoking old fire logs. So much for that … Epic Fail.

WWI Poison Gas vs Nuclear Radiation Poison Gas

Poison Gas in WWI was a very effective killer of troops; it didn’t much matter whose side they were on. The troops died in droves. Thousands more were injured for life. As were civilians and non-combatants in wide areas. The generals and politicians finally learned one thing – Good idea; but, it cannot be Controlled and goes with the wind.

So profound was this usage of chemical poison gas that an International Treaty banning poison gas in warfare was adopted without delay. The American Arms industry, legislative bodies and big newspapers had to think of something else right away. There was money to be made killing people and everybody wanted in on the Government Gravy Train [GGT].

Radioactive poison gas bombs were the answer to the hope of the rich and the Generals alike! The part about controlling the Rad Poison Gas product was conveniently forgotten. In fact, the Harvard Prez at the time ran the DOD Poison Gas committee and between wars they quietly changed the name of the committee for PR reasons. It eventually became the massive, nation changing Manhattan Project; which built the first Atom Bombs.

The target of the Uranium and Plutonium based radioactive poison gas bombs soon became the Empire of Japan. Japan was a defeated country suing for peace in 1945; but, instead the Americans Zapped them with two of the three existing nuclear poison gas bombs in August of 1945. The kill delighted the Americans and they never looked back.

The American industrial capacity geared up to eventually produce 30,000 nuclear bombs to make lots of radioactive poison gas. In fact, in order to make even bigger quantities of RadGas the small, 6.2 kg, 13.64 lb, Plutonium Core was surrounded by thousands of pounds of radioactive material. It worked very well for the Americans; not so good for the Japanese. Seventy years later Japan is now all but Extinct, unable to reproduce their population entirely each generation.

Instead of being deterred, other warlike nations’ leaders immediately wanted a bunch of the “gadgets” for themselves. A huge new radioactive poison gas industry was born. The world has never been the same since. Normal people everywhere have no clue they are breathing radioactive poison gas daily. Medicine? There is none. No treatment, no cure. Normals are now called the “Shorts” for shortened life spans. Guess what? We are all included.

There is no Statute of Limitations for the crime of Murder, a state charge. A warrant can be issued for the high level Perps at any time. A warrant is issued against them, they are hunted down, apprehended, brought before a state judge and jury, tried and sentenced, imprisoned until executed; or exonerated. Since many are flight risks they must necessarily be incarcerated in a state prison until judgment is carried out.
