Provinces, SANA- Units of the army and the armed forces on Sunday launched wide-scale military operations against the Takfiri terrorist organizations across the country, destroying their dens and vehicles and killing scores of their members.
Homs
The army, in cooperation with the locals, eliminated the last groups of terrorists of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in al-Ameriyeh village and the hills surrounding Palmyra city in eastern Homs province.
The achievement followed fierce clashes in which ISIS suffered heavy losses in personnel and equipment, a military source said Sunday.
Meanwhile, Homs Governor told SANA that the army assumed control of the Radio Tower and the hills that overlook Palmyra city, the archeological city and the city’s western entrance.
He said the army units are currently combing al- Ameriyeh village for bombs and explosive devices planted between the houses, stressing that dozens of ISIS terrorists were killed before teh rest fled the area.
The Governor affirmed that the archeological city of Palmyra is “secure”, adding that the road linking Homs and Palmyra is also “fully secure”.
Meanwhile, the Army Air Force targeted positions of ISIS terrorists, killing many of them, around al-Hill oil field, al-Abyad dam and to the west of Oil Pump Station /3/ on the outskirts of Palmyra city. More than 150 ISIS terrorists were killed yesterday as the army repelled their groups’ attempts to infiltrate the station.
Dozens of ISIS terrorists were also killed in al- Biyarat and around Abyad dam, while the army units are hunting down their fleeing remnants on different axes in the area.
The army units also inflicted heavy losses upon ISIS terrorists in the area surrounding Ark oil field and the Mazare’ area in northern and eastern Palmyra.
The Army Air Force targeted vehicle convoys of ISIS terrorists on their way fleeing from areas around Palmyra towards al-Sukhna town, destroying tens of the vehicles and killing all terrorists on board.
Idleb
An army unit killed terrorists and destroyed a mortar launcher and three vehicles with machine guns mounted on them in Hallouz and al-Tibat in southern Jisr al-Shughour city in the northern Idleb province.
Aleppo
An army unit foiled an attempt by terrorists of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) to detonate a car stuffed with big amounts of explosives before reaching the area around the Air Force Academy in Aleppo.
Another army unit inflicted heavy losses upon ISIS terrorists as it targeted several of their positions in Manbej city in northeastern Aleppo city.
The army also hit terrorist groups in the villages of Dweir al-Zaitoun and Tayara in the northern countryside of Aleppo, leaving a large number of them dead or wounded and their vehicles destroyed.
Another army unit targeted groups of terrorists in Khan al-Asal in the southeastern countryside, killing many of them.
Many more terrorists were killed as an army unit hit their positions in Dreihim field, 25 km to the southeast of Aleppo city, leaving many terrorists dead.
In Aleppo city, army units killed many Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in several neighborhoods, including Salah-Eddin, Bustan al-Basha and al-Sukkari.
Daraa
The army destroyed four dens of terrorist groups’ leaders and a store of ammunition to the north of al-Hamza and al-Abbas mosques and al-Karak and al-Bahhar neighborhoods in Daraa al-Balad in the city of Daraa.
The army units also destroyed two vehicles belonging to Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists and a number of their dens on the road of al- Arsad- al-Sad.
Meanwhile, an army unit carried out special operations in which it killed a number of terrorists who infiltrated from Daraa al-Balad
neighborhood in the direction of Bosra al- Sham square and in al-Hammadin and Daraa al-Mahata neighborhoods.
In the northern countryside of Daraa province, units of the army carried out intensive operations against dens of terrorists in the area
surrounding Atman town, killing scores of terrorists and injuring others, in addition to destroying their arms and equipment.
Deir Ezzor
Army units kill 11 ISIS terrorists in Hweijet al-Saker and destroyed several vehicles, killing all the terrorists onboard in Ghassan Abboud neighborhood in Deir-Ezzor eastern province, a military source told SANA Sunday.
