Al-Zobdani is now the scene of fierce clashes between the Syrian and Lebanese forces and militants of Jeish al-Fath terrorist group.
The Syrian air force and artillery units started pounding the terrorists’ positions as the country’s troops are advancing on the ground.
Al-Zobdani is located on the Eastern foothills of the Lebanese mountains and is currently under control of Al-Nusra Front and Ahrar al-Sham terrorists.
On May 20, the Syrian army and the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance fighters started their last round of military operations to purge Al-Qalamoun region in Damascus countryside of Takfiri terrorists.
On June 23, Syrian troops backed by fighters from Lebanon’s Hezbollah Resistance Movement made gains in their military campaign against ISIL in Qalamoun, recapturing new hilltops from the Takfiri group.
The Syrian forces along with Hezbollah fighters clashed with the ISIL terrorists in the mountainous region of Qalamoun, North of the Syrian capital, Damascus, and establishes full controm over the areas of Shoabat al-Bakara, Thalaja, Shoabat al-Shakara, Beit Shakour and Taleel Hajj Ali.
Syrian Army Hits Hard ISIL Leaders’ Command Meeting in Deir Ezzur
At least 40 ISIL terrorist leaders were killed during the army’s raids on their gathering in al-Quriya district of al-Mayadeen city in Deir Ezzur province in Eastern Syria.
According to the military sources, the operation was the result of an inside job by the Syrian spies.
Earlier this month, a large number of ISIL terrorists were also killed in Syrian army’s airstrikes against ISIL leaders’ gathering centers in Raqqah province.
Syrian fighter jets had hit ISIL positions in Raqqa province and managed to kill tens of high-profile Takfiri commanders in the area.
Early tips from informants in ISIL camps disclosed that a large group of ringleaders, mainly from Saudi Arabia and Tunisia, have been killed in the raid.
The ISIL Takfiri terrorists currently control shrinking swathes of Syria and Iraq. They have threatened all communities, including Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians, Ezadi Kurds and others, as they continue their atrocities in Iraq.
Senior Iraqi officials have blamed Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and some Persian Gulf Arab states for the growing terrorism in their country.
The ISIL has links with Saudi intelligence and is believed to be indirectly supported by the Israeli regime.
According to Syrian media outlets, the army troops inflicted massive losses on the terrorists and managed to retake Ghoweiran neighborhood, which is located South of Hasakah.
Reports said that scores of the ISIL militants lost their lives during the clashes.
The latest development came a day after Syrian troops liberated al-Nashwa neighborhood following days of bloody clashes with the militants.
In the past 24 hours, at least 691 ISIL terrorists were killed in fierce clashes between the Syrian army and the Takfiri group in the provinces of Hasaka and Deir Ezzur.

Update 4- 15 terrorist groups’ leaders killed, tens of vehicles destroyed in Daraa and other areas
Provinces, SANA- Units of the army and the armed forces on Thursday continued to tighten the noose around the Takfiri terrorists in different provinces, targeting their dens and positions and killing and injuring scores of them, in addition to destroying their arms and ammunition.
Daraa
At least 15 leaders of terrorist organizations were killed and more than 50 vehicles loaded with arms and ammunition were destroyed or damaged in army operations in Saida town in the eastern countryside of the southern Daraa province, a military source told SANA.
The source said the operations also resulted in destroying a facility for making explosive devices and amounts of weapons and ammunition, noting that most of the terrorists in the area are linked to Jabhat al-Nusra and the so-called “Al-Muthana Movement”.
More terrorists were also killed and injured and their weapons and ammunition were destroyed in Kafr Shams town and Aqraba village in Jaidour Houran area in the northwestern countryside of the province, which has turned into “an operations room for coordination between the terrorist organizations and the Israeli enemy,” according to the source.
The source added that an army unit clashed with an terrorist group that tried to storm into a building near the Electricity Company in Daraa al-Balad neighborhood in the city of Daraa.
The clashes resulted in the killing of most of the group’s members and the destruction of a car loaded with ammunition.
Quneitra
In the neighboring Quneitra province, army units destroyed terrorists’ dens and vehicles in al-Hamidiyeh and Bir Ajam areas in the countryside of the province.
A unit of army killed a number of terrorists, most of them belong to the so- called Fajr al-Islam brigade and al-Furqan brigades, and destroyed their heavy-machinegun equipped vehicles at the west of Bear Ajam village, 18 kilometers southeast of Quneitra city, the source said.
In the western countryside of the province, military operations resulted in destroying vehicles and supply lines of terrorist organizations and killing a number of their members to the north of al-Hamediyeh village.
Damascus countryside
Units of the army and armed forces continued to bombard dens and positions of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists and other Takfiri organizations in the southwestern countryside of Damascus.
According to the military source, army units carried out concentrated operations last night and on Thursday morning against positions and supply routes of Takfiri terrorist organizations in Beit Saber town, Beit Jin farms and the farms of al-Husainiyeh.
The source added that a number of terrorists were killed and others were injured in the operations and most of them were from Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization, in addition to destroying their arms and ammunition.
The army air force, meanwhile, destroyed a hideout for terrorist organizations’ leaders and an ammunition depot in al-Nashabiyeh, Joubar and Tal Kurdi farms in Damascus Countryside.
Aleppo
The army killed a number of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists and destroyed their arms and ammunition in the neighborhoods of Salah-Eddin, al-Sukkari, al-Salehin, Bab al-Hadid, al-Maadi, Bab al-Nairab and al-Naanaei square in the city of Aleppo.
Army units destroyed many vehicles and killed terrorists in operations against their hideouts and movements in the villages of al-Jabboul, Jeb Ghabsha and Jebrin in the eastern countryside of Aleppo province.
Many Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists were killed and their vehicles, which were equipped with heavy machine guns, were destroyed during army operations in Aziza village, 4 km to the southeast of Aleppo city.
Army units killed numbers of ISIS terrorists and destroyed their vehicles and weapons in the vicinity of the Air Force Academy, located on the international highway leading to Raqqa province.
Hasaka
The army air force carried out a series of air strikes against hideouts and gatherings of ISIS terrorists in the countryside of the northeastern Hasaka province.
The air strikes, a military source told SANA, left many terrorists killed or injured, in addition to destroying a convoy of vehicles equipped with various types of machine guns, weapons and ammunition.
Meanwhile, army units and the national forces supporting them continued the combing operations in Ghweiran neighborhood after they establish full control over it on Wednesday.
In the same context, a source in Hasaka province told SANA that the engineering units dismantled a car bomb made up of 48 explosive devices, 50 kg each, in the neighborhood and seized large quantities of arms and ammunition left behind by ISIS terrorists after dozens of them were killed and the rest fled away.
The source said the army and the national backup forces continue hunting ISIS terrorists in the areas and neighborhoods they infiltrated.
