Revealed Religions Are Pushing US Into War

The “holy” books of the man-made “revealed” religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam all promote religious violence. For example: in the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament, which isreligious-wars claimed to be of divine origin by all of the Abrahamic “revealed”/hearsay religions, Numbers 31 claims God ordered Moses to order the Hebrews/Jews to commit genocide against their neighbors, the Midianite people, which they did.

Verses 17-18 even have Moses, who is revered by all of the Abrahamic “revealed”/hearsay religions as a prophet of God, ordering the Israelite army, “kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.” And verse 35 tells us the number of women children/virgins the Jews kept for themselves was 32,000.

Knowing the history of the “revealed”/hearsay religions, we should not at all be surprised when we see religious violence today. The “holy” land is the most violent place on Earth. This religious violence spreads around our globe. It is spread by people who are centered on one or more of the Abrahamic “revealed”/hearsay religions.

One powerful and influential organization that was key to getting US politicians from both parties to start a war against Iraq for Israel’s benefit was the neoconservative movement. The neocon movement is grounded on the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament and is working towards a world based on this alleged Word of God which would see the Jewish state of Israel over all.

They are now working in the same manner to get US politicians to kill the nuclear agreement with Iran which would in all probability lead to another religious war, this time against Iran, for Israel’s benefit. It would be a virtual repeat performance of the US war against Iraq which killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqi people and 4,491 US military people, not to mention all the people who were wounded and left as homeless refugees.

Another dangerous religious based war party is the Israel lobby. They work tirelessly to buy US politicians from both parties who will vote as the lobby dictates on US foreign policy for the Middle East. They are vehemently opposed to the nuclear agreement with Iran.

Since there is a 60 day time frame for Congress to vote for or against the agreement, the most powerful branch of the overly powerful Israel lobby, the American Israel Public Affair Committee, has created a new not-for-profit 501(c)(4) legal entity known as Citizens For a Nuclear Free Iran, which they are using to buy $20 million worth of advertising in 40 states which encourages Americans to do Israel’s bidding by contacting their political representatives and telling them to kill the agreement.

The new warmongering organization has many influential Democratic politicians on its board. In Florida its commercials are run very frequently. They are extremely biased in their content. For example, they claim Iran is in violation of 20 international agreements and can’t be trusted to keep this one. It ignores the fact that Israel is in violation of at least 79 United Nations resolutions which should make us wonder why we would not only trust, but blindly support the Jewish state.

Currently US politicians from both parties take over $10 million per DAY from Americans and give it to the Jewish state of Israel as military aid. This seems like it would be a violation of the principle of separation of religion and government since Israel is a religious Jewish state and the cash is all tax-payer dollars.

In addition to the Jewish groups pushing for a US war against Iran, there are the Christian groups working for the same goal. Zionist Christians like con-artist Pat Robertson believe God gave not only the land currently both legally and illegally occupied by Israel, but much, much more land than that.

In his article The Land of Israel: A Gift From God he claims Israel’s borders should be extended to where they were in 950 BCE! This would include much of Iraq, Syria, Jordan and Egypt and would require endless war to be waged by the American military and paid for by American tax-payers.

Another Zionist Christian con-man pushing to kill the agreement with Iran and working for even more unreasonable support for the Jewish state of Israel is John Hagee. He started a group called Christians United For Israel and raises millions of dollars for Israel’s religious violence based expansion and brutal occupation of Palestine.

He has a Bible-based page called Why Christians Should Support Israel which is very revealing, thought provoking and educational. It not only draws from the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament for support of the Jewish state, it also draws from the Christian New Testament and Jesus himself! He gives the example found at Luke 7:1-6 in which a Roman centurion had a slave who was sick. He asked some Jewish elders to ask Jesus to heal his slave.

To convince Jesus to go to the centurion’s home and heal his slave they told Jesus that the Roman was a friend to the Jews and to their nation and that he had built them a synagogue for them. This convinced Jesus to help the centurion and his slave. Hagee, among other things, also points out that Paul/Saul instructed Gentile Christians to materially support the Jews in Jerusalem at Romans 15:27 by writing, “For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their (Jews) spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.”

Of course these commands and teachings for Gentile Christians to support Israel has threats attached, too, as is common in all of the “revealed”/hearsay religions which always seem to employ the carrot and the stick. Genesis 12:3 has God telling Abram/Abraham that he will bless Gentile people who bless the Hebrews/Jews and Israel and that he will curse those who do not. It also claims that the Hebrews/Jews and Israel will be a blessing for “all families of the earth.”

I think the victims of their genocide throughout the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament and the Palestinians of today would disagree with that last part! In addition, Isaiah 60:12 also has a stick/threat to any Gentile nation that will not serve the Jewish state of Israel. It puts these threatening and anti-Gentile words in God’s mouth, “For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee (Israel) shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.”

Since Israel is the only nation in the Middle East that really does have very real nuclear weapons plus submarines that can deliver them virtually anywhere in the world, these threats from their Bible should be taken seriously. Israel’s warmongering mindset was again revealed last month when an adviser to Israeli PM Netanyahu told US politician and presidential hopeful Rick Santorum that America needs a wartime president.

I don’t think they’ll do it, but US politicians should take the advice of the Deist George Washington who said in his farewell address, “So likewise, a passionate attachment of one nation for another produces a variety of evils. Sympathy for the favorite nation, facilitating the illusion of an imaginary common interest in cases where no real common interest exists, and infusing into one the enmities of the other, betrays the former into a participation in the quarrels and wars of the latter without adequate inducement or justification.

It leads also to concessions to the favorite nation of privileges denied to others which is apt doubly to injure the nation making the concessions; by unnecessarily parting with what ought to have been retained, and by exciting jealousy, ill-will, and a disposition to retaliate, in the parties from whom equal privileges are withheld.

And it gives to ambitious, corrupted, or deluded citizens (who devote themselves to the favorite nation), facility to betray or sacrifice the interests of their own country, without odium, sometimes even with popularity; gilding, with the appearances of a virtuous sense of obligation, a commendable deference for public opinion, or a laudable zeal for public good, the base or foolish compliances of ambition, corruption, or infatuation.”
