As beauty is in the eye of the beholder, often the interpretation of a text is in the mind of the reader and coloured by the prejudice of their racial, social and political background. The war in Syria which began in 2011 resulted in many Biblical Scholars and politicians revisiting Isaiah Chapter 17, which speaks of the total destruction of Damascus associated with Armageddon and the “end times.”

According to Republican Gov. Sam Brownback as quoted in Mother Jones, “Oh Magog! Why End-Times Buffs Are Freaking Out About Syria,”September 4 2013:

The idea behind the prophecy is a fairly straightforward one. In Isaiah 17, the prophet explains that, in the run-up to Armageddon, “Damascus is about to be removed from being a city, and will become a fallen ruin.” The implication is that it will be levelled by God on behalf of Israel as part of the last great struggle for mankind.”

This is what is often called a self-fulfilling prophecy. When a certain text written during one period in history is used for the purposes of preparing the masses for a similar event in the future. This tactic has been used over and over again in the run up to any given war, where an “end times” narrative has served the purpose of warmongers in order to terrify their populations into the belief that war is inevitable and ordained by God. The carrot at the end of the stick is always the second coming where there will be peace and heaven on earth.

Isaiah 17 translated from the oldest document that we have, being the Great Isaiah Scroll found amongst the Dead Sea Scrolls at Qumran on the West Bank in Palestine reads:

The Oracle of Damascus:

Behold Damascus is changed from being a city to a ruined heap.

(2) The cities of Aroer are abandoned, they shall be for flocks and they shall lie down and not be afraid. (PP)

(3) The fortress shall cease from Ephraim and the kingdom from Damascus and the remnant of Syria shall as the glory

of the sons of Israel become, say YHWH of Hosts. (PP)

(4) And it shall be in that day that the glory of Jacob shall be base and his fatness shall grow lean. (5) And it shall be

as the harvester gathering grain and his arm reaps the sheaves and it shall be like gleaning sheaves

in the valley of Rephaim. (6) And left in it gleaning grapes like the shaking of an olive tree, two or three berries

in the top bow, four or five in the top fruitful branches says YHWH the God of

Israel. (7) In that day shall a man give regard for his Maker and his eyes

to the Holy One of Israel shall look. (8) He shall not give regard to the altars the works of him {his hands}

that which his fingers have made and he will not look to the groves or the idols.(PP)

(9) In that day his strong cities shall be like an abandoned limb or the top most bow which

they abandoned from the presence of the sons of Israel and it shall be a desolation. (10) Because you forgot the God of

your salvation and the rock of your strength you did not remember, therefore you shall plant pleasant plants and twigs

of strangeness you shall sow. (11) And in the day of your planting you shall make it grow and in the morning you shall make your seed sprout out.

but the harvest shall be a heap in the day of grief and sick anguish. (PP)

(12) Woe to the multitude of many people like the sound of waters like the sound of nations

as the sound of waters they make a din. (13) Nations like many crashing waters shall make a din

and he shall rebuke them and they shall flee afar off and they shall be pursued like the chaff of the mountains before the wind and like a rolling thing before

a whirlwind (14) And behold at evening time terror, and before morning it is not, this is the share of those who plunder us

and the lot of those who rob us. (PP)

Isaiah 17 was written shortly after the Assyrian invasion of Israel in 7th century B.C. In the text Isaiah constantly mourns the split in the country between the Northern Kingdom of Israel, referred to as Hebrews and the Southern Kingdom of Judah, referred to as Israelites.

The Northern Kingdom was inhabited by the Joseph tribes, descendants of Yeshua, commonly translated as Joshua in the Old Testament texts and his brother Mannasheh, who led the people into the new kingdom of the promised land.Their ancestors were Nun, Ephraim and Joseph, the favourite son of Jacob/Israel. These two families represented the monarchy and the priesthood respectively in the north.

Zion from the time of Joshua was considered to be Mount Gerizim in Samaria, or what is present day Nabulus, where he dedicated the people to the Law and the Covenant. The territory of the Northern Kingdom extended from Beth El (The House of God) in the south to beyond Damascus in the north.

The southern Kingdom of Judah consisted of the tribes of Judah and Levi, in turn representing the monarchy and the priesthood respectively. Zion from the time of the monarchy in the south was considered to be a small hill in the vicinity of Jerusalem. The territory of Judah included the region south of Jerusalem as designated to them by Joshua as well as what once was the territory of the tribe of Benjamin which David annexed when he became king.

Isaiah was not the only prophet who mourned the split in the kingdom and the subsequent invasion by the Assyrians. In Jeremiah 31: 27 we read:

Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast.”

In Isaiah 17, the prophet says that when Damascus is destroyed, the royal power will be taken from it and Ephraim, a remnant in Syria will be the glory of Israel. In the context of Isaiah, the glory of Israel is Ephraim as it is in Jeremiah 31: 9:

They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.“

Royal power contravenes the first commandment and the Covenant and is regarded as idolatry. The king replaces God in the people’s affections. The people as a whole are associated with the “bride,” who the Lord then divorces because she has become a harlot and now worships a king. The people, the bride, have turned from Wisdom (Proverbs 8) and now play the prostitute. In Christianity a similar association exists where the church is the bride. But the church is not a building or the hierarchical structure of a priesthood, the church is the people, the believers in Christ.

By demanding a king, royal power to rule over them, in both the Northern Kingdom of Israel and the southern Kingdom of Judah, the Hebrews and the Israelites had committed idolatry and worshipped a false god. “We have no king but thee.” As the bride, being the people as a whole, they had committed adultery.

The prophet Samuel was instructed to protest to the people in order that they should turn away from a monarchy. Having a king would lead them into slavery.1 Samuel 8:

But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the Lord.

And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.

Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and show them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.

And Samuel told all the words of the Lord unto the people that asked of him a king.

And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots.

And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots.

And he will take your daughters to be confectioneries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers.

And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants.

And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants.

And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work.

He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants.

And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the Lord will not hear you in that day.

Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us;

That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles.

And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he rehearsed them in the ears of the Lord.

And the Lord said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go ye every man unto his city.

Now let’s go back to Republican Gov. Sam Brownback:

The idea behind the prophecy is a fairly straightforward one. In Isaiah 17, the prophet explains that, in the run-up to Armageddon, “Damascus is about to be removed from being a city, and will become a fallen ruin.” The implication is that it will be levelled by God on behalf of Israel as part of the last great struggle for mankind.”

If, according to Isaiah, due to the fall of Damascus, “Israel” itself is punished, how can it be levelled by God on behalf of Israel? Is this really a struggle for mankind? What the text implies is that Israel, Jacob, is brought to its knees with the Assyrian invasion and that Ephraim, a remnant will survive in Syria. The end of the text implies that “those who plunder us” will be laid to waste. The prophets state that this disaster has occurred because they broke the Covenant and restored a monarchy. Israel as a people, “the bride,” betrayed the Lord being the “bridegroom.” Both the kingdom of Judah and the Northern Kingdom of Israel were worshipping idols.

As far as contemporary events go, between 2011 and 2015, Syria was levelled by ISIL/ISIS extremist terrorist militants who were funded by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, assisted by the Jews on the Golan heights and trained by the American CIA in Jordan in order to overthrow Bashar al-Assad.

The Mother Jones article goes on to say

“…in Rosenberg’s Twelfth Imam series, he postulates that the emergence of the Mahdi, the Muslim messiah, leads to the rise of a new Islamic caliphate in the Middle East that prepares to decapitate Israel by launching nuclear warheads from Damascus.”

The Islamic caliphate led by ISIL/ISIS and supported by Turkey certainly was preparing to decapitate Israel, but not the Zionist State of Israel installed in Palestine at the end of WW11, but ancient Israel spoken of in both Isaiah and Jeremiah which included Damascus. Rather than launching nuclear warheads from Damascus, nuclear warheads were launched against it in the form of Sarin Gas and mini nukes supplied to ISIL/ISIS by those who were funding and supporting them.

The Messiah referred to by Rosenberg is grossly misunderstood in the Western Christian World. In Shiite Islam which is predominant in Iran and also followed in parts of Iraq and Syria, the Mahdi’s destiny is closely linked to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. He and his followers help to protect Christians and together they will fight the false Messiah also known as the Anti-Christ.

Unremarkably, it is was the Shiite Muslims, along with many Sunni not aligned with extremist terror groups, who played a major role in protecting and caring for some of the most ancient, original Orthodox Christian communities in Syria, Iraq and Egypt. Both Christian and Muslim communities were terrorized, killed in mass murders and the infrastructure of their communities, churches and mosques were destroyed by Islamic terror. These terrorists went by the name of the Muslim Brotherhood, ISIL, ISIS, Daesh or Al-Qeada, pick whichever acronym these madmen choose to use for themselves in either the past, present or future. They are all fundamentally from the same root and have their origins in the Sunni Wahhabi sect.

The Caliphate Rosenberg is talking about is the Caliphate fought for by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey where Wahhabism will rule, not a “Caliphate” fought for by Syria or Iran. In other words, the restoration of the Ottoman Empire ruled by monarchies. Part of the plan included support from the current Zionist State of Israel, who wanted to bomb Iran and take it down along with Syria, and supported Islam dominated by Sunni as opposed to Shiite eschatology.

What Brownback, Rosenberg and many others have failed to point out, is that the Turks from Anatolia, who invaded and colonized the Orthodox Christian Byzantine Empire in the 15th century A.D. which had existed for 1,500 years, are descendants of the Biblical Gog and Magog who later converted to Islam. Their invasion and colonization of what once was ancient Greece and Eastern Europe is still marked by the Orthodox Christian church, the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, which now stands as a museum devoid of its former glory.

AS Raymond Ibrahim wrote in Jihad Watch June 2015: Turks Glorify Historic Slaughter and Rape of Christians

In fact, this is an annual ritual. Thousands of Turks surround Hagia Sophia every May and call for it to become a mosque—often to Islam’s war-cry, “Allahu Akbar!”

This is not about a “minority of radicals.” In a survey conducted with 401 Turks, more than 97 percent wanted Hagia Sophia to be turned into a functioning mosque. Nor is this about Muslims needing a place to pray. As of 2010, there were 3,000 active mosques in Istanbul alone.

Rather, this is about Muslims wanting to revel in the glory days of Islamic jihad and conquest. Unlike historically challenged Westerners, Muslims fully understand the significance of Hagia Sophia. Hagia Sophia—Greek for “Holy Wisdom”—was, in fact, Christendom’s greatest cathedral for almost one thousand years.

2015 saw the anniversary of the 1915 Armenian Genocide, where the Turks slaughtered over 1 million Orthodox Christians and drove them into the Syrian desert on death marches where they died from starvation, rape, robbery and massacre. If anything can be associated with an anti-Christ it was this genocide.

The Khazars from present day Georgia who converted to Judaism in the 8th century A.D, are known as the Ashkenazi Jews. The Khazars were also descended from Gog and Magog. Many of them currently live in Tel Aviv today. These Ashkenazis carried out a similar genocide in Russia in 1917. They formed the hard-core of the communist Bolsheviks who destroyed the Russian Orthodox Christian Churches, persecuted the priesthood and made atheism a state religion. Again, another manifestation of an anti-Christ.

During WWII, as many investigators have pointed out, the pro Zionist Ashkenazi Jews were in league with the Nazis, often running the death camps where the anti Zionist Torah Jews, faithful to the Covenant and who believe that Israel may not be restored as a country until the Messiah comes, were persecuted. As a teenager George Soros, a Jew, was co-opted during WWII to help round them up and confiscate their property and wealth, something he publicly admitted to.

Completely overlooked in the media deluge since WWII are the number of Orthodox and Protestant Christians in Eastern Europe who were persecuted, put in death camps and had their wealth stolen from them. The figure of 6 million Jews represents only a small fraction of the number of souls lost.

Persecution of Orthodox Christians in Croatia by the Jesuit Priesthood and Orthodox Christians in Greece by the Nazi military are two examples, while in Poland the population prior to WWII was predominately Protestant, but after WWII became predominately Roman Catholic. Calling it a “Jewish” holocaust is a misnomer.

Christian/Zionists in the USA today have been drawn from these groups, many of whom were Nazi sympathizers during WWII who funded and supported Hitler and later included Nazi war criminals who were given safe passage with the assistance of the Vatican to the USA. Protestant or Catholic, Republican or Democratic, Christian / Zionists in both these camps are the product of a fascist mindset that had an enormous influence on both American and Israeli policy in the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st.

By the turn of the 21st century the Ashkenazi carried out a genocide against Palestinians in Gaza in what became known as the largest open air prison the world had ever seen. Gaza became an example of slow kill over a number of years, a holocaust exacted upon a people by Israeli blockades that kept the population one notch above starvation.

If Isaiah and Jeremiah are not read in the context of the historical time period in which they were written during the Assyrian invasion of the Northern Kingdom of Israel, but rather as a future prediction, then any nation who attempts to destroy Palestinians and Syrians, the remnant of Israel, should take heed of the last verses of Isaiah 17.

Woe to the many nations that rage— they rage like the raging sea! Woe to the peoples who roar—they roar like the roaring of great waters!

Although the peoples roar like the roar of surging waters, when he rebukes them they flee far away, driven before the wind like chaff on the hills, like tumbleweed before a gale.

In the evening, sudden terror! Before the morning, they are gone! This is the portion of those who loot us, the lot of those who plunder us.

Those who loot and plunder will be gone in a sudden terror, they will be rebuked. They are referred to not as one enemy, but “nations” who will flee. Syria between 2011 and 2015 was beset by extremist groups supported by the nations who surrounded it.

Damascus in the 1st century A.D was one of three Essene centres, the other two being on the West Bank at Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found, and the Essene quarter in Jerusalem. Damascus was also central to the early Christian Church. The descendants of these people, as well as those who later converted to Islam, are the descendants of the Northern tribes of Israel, of the Joseph tribes, of Ephraim, Mannasheh, Eleazer and Joshua. They are the Palestinians.

Thousands of Palestinians, both Christian and Muslim who had fled Palestine from 1948 onwards due to Israeli wars and occupation of their land became refugees in Syria. The attacks on Damascus between 2011 and 2015, were in effect, attacks on Israel itself that had been laid to waste by Gog and Magog.

By July 2015 over 350,000 had been killed. Millions displaced. Syria had been laid desolate by raving lunatics who left destruction in their path, raping, plundering and pillaging the whole country. Syrian refugees flooded into Turkey, where Erdogan was a major sponsor and supporter of ISIL/ISIS; Jordan where the CIA had supported them, trained them and supplied them with arms; the Golan Heights where Israel had offered assistance and medical help for wounded ISIL terror groups; and by early September, the dead bodies of Syrian and Palestinian, Christian and Muslim refugees, who had fled across the Mediterranean began washing up on European beaches, a Europe who by their silence gave consent to the funding of ISIL/ISIS by Saudi Arabia and Qatar because, as Britain’s Prime Minister David Cameron repeated like a mantra, “Assad must go!” As did US President Barak Obama.

The Israeli lobby in both countries not only wanted to see the total destruction of Syria where Assad and his father before him had opposed Israeli occupation of Palestine and the hotly contested Golan Heights, their next target was Iran. A predominately Shiite country where the very concept of the Mahdi was a threat to Zionism, Christian/Zionism and Sunni Wahhabism.

The Isaiah text written over 2,000 years ago which tells the story of an invasion by the Assyrians into the Northern Kingdom of Israel has been misquoted, misinterpreted and used as justification for a devastating war in another period of time.

And now, the Russians are coming. Good F*CKING luck to you Zionists! You deserve everything you are going to get. They are Orthodox Christians and they are in Syria, they are in Damascus. Be warned you murders!

THE END and an extract from Jeremiah 34 with “editorial adjustments” for the 21st century.

This is the word that came unto Jeremiah from the Lord, after that the king Bibi had made a covenant with all the people who were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty unto them;

That every man should let his manservant, and every man his maidservant, being a Palestinian or a Palestinianess, go free; that none should serve himself of them, to wit, of a Jew his brother.

Now when all the Knesset, and all the Zionists, which had entered into the covenant, heard that every one should let the Palestinians go free, that none should serve themselves of them any more, then they obeyed, and let them go.

But afterward they turned, and caused the Palestinians whom they had let go free, to return, and brought them into subjection, and torture and murder.

Therefore the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,

Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel; I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondmen, saying,

And ye were now turned, and had done right in my sight, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbour; and ye had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name:

But ye turned and polluted my name, and caused every Palestinian whom he had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and brought the Palestinians into subjection, to be unto you for Goyim as cattle.

Therefore thus saith the Lord; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the Lord, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life: and their dead bodies shall be for meat unto the fowls of the heaven, and to the beasts of the earth.

And Bibi king of Judah and his princes will I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life, and into the hand of Assad’s army on the Golan Heights, which are gone up from you.

Behold, I will command, saith the Lord, and cause them to return to this city; and they shall fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire: and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation without an inhabitant.

Run Bibi run, the Messiah is here, and his name is Yeshua, son of Ephraim, son of Joseph and he is a Palestinian.
