The UN has chosen Saudi Arabia to head a major UN human rights panel despite the regime being widely condemned for regular human rights abuses at home and abroad. UN Watch says that the UN’s appointment of Saudi Arabia’s Faisal bin Hassan Trad is “scandalous.” Observers and reporters say Saudi Arabia abuses women, children and ethnic and religious minorities systematically.

The regime continues to execute children despite UN conventions on the protection of the rights of children. Meanwhile, a Saudi court has upheld the sentence for the crucifixion and beheading of Ali Mohammed Al-Nimr. He faces execution for taking part in anti-regime protests as a child. Mohammed is the nephew to a prominent Shia scholar, who is also sentenced to death for his views against Saudi oppression.

Meanwhile, Saudi warplanes continue to bomb Yemen without the UN approval. The war has left tens of thousands dead and has the full backing of Britain, the United States and Daesh terrorists.
